Waymo expands driverless rides to uptown Phoenix and into Scottsdale

Waymo continues to expand its robotaxi services in metro Phoenix.

Starting Friday, Waymo One riders can access areas that extend further north to uptown Phoenix and towards Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale.

Accessibility has also grown south towards the South Mountain Village and east into downtown Mesa.

In total, Waymo’s service area now covers 225 square miles across the Valley. According to the company, the latest improvements include more efficient pick-ups and drop-offs and better communications between autonomous vehicles and pedestrians.
