There are still about 1,500 COVID-19 cases recorded in Arizona each week

While coronavirus case reports no longer dominate the headlines, people in the state are still contracting the disease.

Arizona Public Health Association Director Will Humble said data shows about 1,500 cases and 200 hospitalizations per week are still being recorded.

“Like it’s been from the very beginning, it’s mostly the over-70 crowd that we’re seeing hospitalizations in. We’re still getting about 10 deaths a week and most of those are people over 70," said Humble.

Humble also recommended treating the virus like the flu and getting a yearly vaccine booster.
