Officials from the Coconino National Forest and city of Flagstaff are collaborating on a project to fix a critical piece of water infrastructure.
The Inner Basin water pipeline funnels 2 million to 4 million gallons to the city from the San Francisco Peaks each day and was damaged by the effects of last year’s Pipeline Fire.
“The repair work will address 45 specific locations along Shultz Pass Road and Waterline Road that were damaged due to those storm flows, and those 45 locations include three known breaks in the waterline pipe," said Randi Schaffer with Coconino National Forest.
Construction will begin later this month and is expected to last until November 2024.
