New Phoenix housing policy would allow casitas in more backyards

Phoenix is planning some changes to its housing policy. The Phoenix City Council is expected to vote this fall on a policy that would allow for accessory dwelling units, or ADUs — essentially casitas — in backyards.

The plan also calls for more duplexes and triplexes.

The Show spoke with Tom Simplot, former member of the Phoenix City Council and former director of the Arizona Housing Department under former Gov. Doug Ducey, more about this.
