New research finds racial disparities in treatment for people with suicidal ideation

There has been an uptick in suicides in recent years, but not for everyone.

More people of color, particularly Native Americans, have died by suicide, according to the latest data. That trend is not reflected in the suicide rates of white people. 

The Show spoke to James Cunningham, a professor in the department of family and community medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. In a new study, he found racial disparities in suicide prevention care and hospitalization.
