Since 2007, Salt River Project has installed 54 solar systems for across nonprofits metro Phoenix, and they are now taking applications from more local groups looking to reduce their electrical bills.

Nonprofits can apply to the SRP program through Aug. 18.

To qualify, the organization must be a 501(c)(3) located within the utility’s service area and own property with a parking area, which is where the panels will be installed.

The program is supported by SRP customer donations and has helped local organizations save more than $1 million on their electric bills.
