Rising oil prices cause Arizona gas to creep up again

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas rose up three cents over the past week. Now, the statewide average stands at $3.81.

AAA Arizona spokesperson Julian Paredes said crude oil prices have led to the increase.

“Oil is hovering around $80 a barrel. That’s up $10 just from a few weeks ago. That’s definitely pushing up gas prices pretty much everywhere,” he said.

According to Paredes, the national average for gas is lower at $3.73. He said the higher state gas prices stem from California imports.
