President Joe Biden will travel to Arizona, New Mexico and Utah next week from Aug. 7-10.
He is expected to tout the Inflation Reduction Act, which dedicates about $375 billion over a decade to combat climate change.
The visit comes as a brutal heat wave continues over the Southwest, punctuated in recent weeks by a string of record-setting temperatures.
On Sunday, Phoenix officially hit 31 days in a row of 110-degree plus highs.
