Tempe adds parking corrals to hold shared bikes and e-scooters

Tempe is installing parking corrals to hold rental bikes and e-scooters while they are not in use after fielding complaints from businesses and residents about the items cluttering sidewalks in and around downtown.

“The city of Tempe has never had parking corrals," said Julian Dresang, Tempe city engineer. "Other cities across the country and internationally have had success with these, and so this is the first time the city of Tempe has implemented a corral system for our e-scooters," he said.

Tempe expects to install 41 parking corrals before the start of Arizona State University's fall semester.
