Drivers will find detours over the weekend if they plan on using southbound State Route 143.
The detours are needed for the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project, which covers 11 miles of the I-10 freeway near Sky Harbor Airport.
Until Monday morning, workers will remove overhead signs closing the state route temporarily.
The closures include the ramps from the Red Mountain Freeway southbound to State Route 143 and the westbound Red Mountain Freeway off-ramp at Sky Harbor Boulevard.
