The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will take public comments on a proposed amendment to environmental rules governing the operation of Roosevelt Dam.
Fish and Wildlife and the Army Corps of Engineers would like to amend rules regarding incidental take of a number of species covered by the Endangered Species Act.
They include the Mexican garter snake, the yellow-billed cuckoo, the bald eagle and other species.
The agencies want to give the Salt River Project new guidelines for flood control and surges in Roosevelt Lake.
They will accept comments through Sept. 5.
