Rain hit some parts of the East Valley

It rained in parts of the Valley. Chandler saw up to three-quarters of an inch with just a few hours of monsoon activity. Parts of Tempe, Gilbert and Mesa were also hit.

Meteorologist Gabriel Lojero with the National Weather Service in Phoenix says the Valley has slight storm chances in the coming days but will dry off by the end of the week.

“And temperatures are actually going to increment once again as we head into this weekend and especially next week. So we’re probably going to be above 110 again by early next week and potentially near 115 by the middle of next week," Lojero said.

He also says there was still no measurable rain at Sky Harbor, putting it at the fourth-longest streak of dry weather.

The last time it rained in that area was back in March.
