Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes has released a draft of the newest Election Procedures Manual.
Essentially, the manual is the guide for how election officials across the state should run elections, and the draft is drawing criticism from Republicans and praise from Democrats.
Arizona is still operating under the manual approved in 2019, despite a requirement that the secretary of state update it each odd-numbered year. The governor and attorney general also have to sign off on the EPM before it goes into effect.
The Show spoke with KJZZ's Ben Giles to explain the controversy.
