Tucson orchestra to host special performance for Alzheimer's patients and family members

An orchestra in Tucson is partnering with Banner’s Alzheimer’s Institute to create a special rehearsal performance for people dealing with memory loss issues.

The event is slated for Sept. 9 in downtown Tucson.

Tucson Pops Orchestra Conductor Khris Dodge says the event coincides with World Alzheimer’s Month. He says it aims to make a performance space that is accessible to people living with memory loss diseases like dementia, along with their family members and caregivers.

It’s a free performance, but organizers say the event has limited seating. Those wanting to attend are asked to make reservations ahead of time by visiting the Banner's  website or calling 602-230-CARE.
