A 1,700-acre ranch is now the most expensive property for sale in southern Arizona with an asking price of nearly $30 million.
The property in Patagonia includes three homes, three apartments, two barns and a private lake. The building styles are a mix of Spanish Colonial and Arizona Territorial.
Known as Rail X Ranch, it was once owned by the family of the late U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe from Tucson. The seller is a countess from Germany who bought the ranch with her late husband about 50 years ago.
Built in 1937, the main house and guest house have eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. In total, living quarters cover 17,956-square-feet and include 15 bedrooms, 15 full bathrooms, and 4 half bathrooms.
Gary Brasher, associate broker of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, said the property retains all its mineral rights.
