Sky Harbor Airport continues to report numerous flight cancellations as now-Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall Sunday. Fallout from the storm will affect the Southwest, and the National Weather Service has issued flood and severe wind warnings in southwest and central Arizona.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Walter Williams said weather conditions will continue to affect flights.
“There will be thunderstorms that impact arrivals into Phoenix as well as Las Vegas, and maybe a possible thunderstorm so those airports will be impacted later on this afternoon. The airlines have already adjusted their flight schedules in anticipation of the weather impacts,” he said.
Erick Moreno with Sky Harbor says airport officials are closely monitoring the storm, but travelers should contact airlines for the latest information.
