Sun City golf course worker stung by nearly 2,000 bees

A Sun City golf course worker is in stable condition after being stung by almost 2,000 by bees.

Ashley Losch with the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority says firefighters had to use foam to subdue the bees enough to help get the man into an ambulance.

"It was a pretty heroic act. [The firefighers] put themselves in harm’s way. Those bees were still attacking, but without thought, they went in, made sure they were able to get that gentleman to safety and then got him to the hospital," said Losch.

Losch says the man is expected to survive.

The golf course brought in a beekeeper to relocate the hive.
