22 charged in Arizona crackdown on 'human-smuggling coordinators'

Federal prosecutors say 22 people have been indicted for conspiracy to smuggle undocumented immigrants for profit.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Arizona called most of the suspects "human-smuggling coordinators" and said that they allegedly used platforms such as Snapchat to recruit drivers in the state.

Authorities added that the suspects were identified via police informants, cellphone data and their own social media accounts.
