Hollywood writers and actors have both been on strike for more than a month now, after contract negotiations between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers fell apart. Not long after the writers took to the picket line, the actors’ union, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, joined the strike.
Actors and writers say they need a new deal now that streaming dominates the TV and film industries. They say they’re simply not being compensated fairly for streams.
