New research shows the 2023 Cactus League season added $418.5 million to Arizona’s GDP, generating $36 million in tax revenue.
The total economic activity resulted in $710.2 million.
The study surveyed only those who traveled to the state in an effort to understand the additional money generated in Arizona during the season.
Gov. Katie Hobbs says the attendance of games this year helped with job growth as well.
"The Cactus League’s 2023 season created nearly 6,000 good paying jobs that totaled over $270 million in wages," Hobbs said.
The study was conducted by the Seidman Research Institute at Arizona State University.
