Homelessness across metro Phoenix has been increasing over the past several years, as residents struggle to afford housing, and prices continue to rise. It’s a situation Carrie Masters understands on a personal level.
Masters is CEO of the nonprofit St. Joseph the Worker, which focuses on helping people find jobs. The organization offers services including resume writing, transportation to and from work and help with housing and food for the first 90 days of employment.
Masters herself has experienced homelessness, which she says makes her current work even more meaningful. The Show spoke with her about how it is more than just a job to her.
