Whether or not former President Donald Trump is legally qualified to run again comes down to the 14th Amendment and the outcome of his several criminal indictments.
Former Arizona assistant attorney general Barnett Lotstein says if found guilty, the Constitution could bar Trump from being elected.
“The preclusion to run for federal office is automatic. You need no more than the fact that they either participated in or encouraged an insurrection," Lotstein said.
Among the charges, Trump is facing conspiracy to defraud the United States, witness tampering, conspiracy against the rights of citizens, and obstruction of an official proceeding.
