Elvia Díaz: Could Blake Masters win a GOP primary against Kari Lake?

Kari Lake and Blake Masters
Kari Lake and Blake Masters at a rally during Country Thunder in Florence, Arizona, in January 2022.

We don’t yet know who the candidates will be in the race for Arizona’s Senate seat in 2024, but that hasn’t stopped politicos on all sides from talking about it.

Current Senator and would-be incumbent in the race, Kyrsten Sinema, threw the race into political chaos last year when she left the Democratic Party to become an independent, leaving behind any clear path to victory.

Now, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego is hoping to be the Democratic nominee, and on the GOP side, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb has declared his candidacy.

But, speculation reigns about whether or not failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake will jump into the race on the Republican side. Now, we’re expecting an announcement that losing 2022 Senate candidate Blake Masters will also announce soon.

The Show spoke with Arizona Republic editorial page editor Elvia Díaz all about it.
