The Arizona State University Art Museum has numerous exhibitions on display. You may have missed some, which opened this summer.
But they continue into the fall and beyond, along with some new works of art as well.
The exhibits employ a variety of artistic mediums, messages and questions such as “what’s the difference between ‘fine art’ and ‘craft?’”
One by Puerto Rican artist Luis Rivera Jimenez explores ethnicity via metaphoric cosplay and examines the “intricacies of language, political thought and experience in a global, digital society,” according to a release.
“Some of the messages, you have to flip your phone and basically take a selfie to be able to see what it says on the wall,” said Nayeli Lopez, communications program coordinator at the museum.
“Some of them you’re able to rate them. There’s things in Spanish and some of them are pop culture references. That one is really cool,” said Lopez, who reminds patrons there’s a special celebration of Mexican Independence Day at the museum on Sept. 15.
