A southern Arizona based news publisher will acquire the Flagstaff newspaper, its owners announced.
Wick Communications is based in Sierra Vista and owns a small cadre of newspapers from Alaska to Louisiana. It also owns seven newspapers in Arizona.
It announced recently that it’s now going to own the Arizona Daily Sun, a small paper in the community that’s operated under different names for nearly 150 years.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized at the end of this month.
Unlike many modern mergers and purchases of other newspapers, this transaction comes a bit differently: the new publisher says they’ve offered all current employees a job.
