Report: Online platforms, apps are selling kids' data — even when they say they don't

Apps and online platforms appear to be selling kids’ data, even as many say they aren’t, and some states enact laws aimed at preventing that from happening.

In a new report, Common Sense Media analyzed the privacy practices of more than 200 platforms and apps. The group found almost three-quarters of them are monetizing kids’ and families’ personal information.

Girard Kelly, head of privacy at Common Sense Media, talks more about the issue with The Show.
