Gas prices jump 17 cents in a week across AZ

Gas continues to get more expensive in Arizona, as the average price for a gallon of gas jumped by 17 cents in the last week.

The state average is at $4.51 a gallon, which is $0.66 higher than the national average.

Julian Paredes with AAA says international factors continue to play a role.

"The main reason is that raising cost of oil. So the market is still feeling the effect of Russia and Saudi Arabia’s decision to keep production lower," he said.

Paredes says heat waves in Texas have led to refinery issues, also boosting prices across the Southwest.
