U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Arizona) continues to criticize Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama).
Speaking recently on MSNBC, Kelly blamed him for holding up confirmation of U.S. military leaders.
“Do you know who is, like, celebrating this now? The Chinese government, the Chinese military — there’s probably, in the Chinese Embassy here, there’s probably champagne corks popping over this. This is very good for them,” Kelly told host Chris Hayes. “This is very good for Vladimir Putin. This is very bad for the U.S. military.”
While not responding directly to Kelly, on the social media platform “X,” Tuberville rebuffed similar criticism by three armed forces secretaries who wrote a joint opinion piece in “The Washington Post.”
Tuberville said, “It just goes to show you, this is all propaganda that’s been carried on by the Sec. of Defense and the President of the United States saying, ‘Y’all gotta start putting pressure on this, on this senator.’”
He objects to voting for military promotions, primarily because of the Dept. of Defense reproductive health care policy.
