Arizona-based Nikola Motors could be on the cutting edge of zero-emission technology

Arizona-based Nikola Motors says it’s recently started producing hydrogen fuel-cell semitrucks and expects to begin delivering them this fall.

The company told Axois it’s had more than 200 orders for the trucks, which have a range of up to 500 miles.

Hydrogen is one of a few zero-emission technologies the trucking industry is working on as transportation is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the United States.

To take about these efforts, Rick Mihelic, director of emerging technologies for the North American Council for Freight Efficiency, joined The Show.
