Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health director resigns

The director of Arizona’s worker-safety program has resigned.

ABC15 reported Jessie Atencio stepped down as the head of the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health. The agency is branch of the Industrial Commission of Arizona, which met Thursday to appoint a replacement director.

ABC15 has spent months reporting on calls for ADOSH to levy higher fines against companies that violate workplace safety regulations.
