Mesa plans new food hall to help local businesses get 'ready for a restaurant'

A pair of new food halls are planned in Valley over the next few years. One planned for Chandler could welcome guests next year, while another in Mesa is looking to open the following year.

The Mesa project is a partnership between the city and Local First Arizona.

Gabe Gardner is director of Food Entrepreneurship for Local First Arizona. He said the food hall will be a "middle ground" for eateries who aren't quite ready for their brick-and-mortar location, and will have six to nine concepts.

He spoke with The Show about the development and the thinking behind this new food hall that his group is working on.
