Law enforcement, experts hold human trafficking summit in Scottsdale

A summit on human trafficking is being held in Scottsdale.

Kristin Greene with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says the conference is set to bring experts in the field together with law enforcement to refine officers’ skills.

The Yavapai County sheriff recently assigned two deputies to exclusively handle sex-trafficking cases full time.

“The idea is to bring all of these agencies and organizations that may working independently or have been working independently over the years together to try to say, ‘OK, as we all know, there’s strength in numbers," Greene said.

The conference is being held Monday and Tuesday.
