Diamondbacks reporter breaks down how team went from 'abyss' to 1st playoff run since 2017

The Arizona Diamondbacks are back in the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2017.

They’re the sixth seed in the National League, and they start a best-of-three Wild Card series against the Central Division champion Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday afternoon. All three games in this series will be on the road.

The Diamondbacks are only a couple of years removed from a 110-loss season. In the spring, ESPN gave them an 18% chance of making the playoffs.

The Show caught up with Nick Piecoro, who covers the Diamondbacks for the Arizona Republic, and talked about what the players are saying about the fact that this was a team that was not necessarily expected to make the playoffs, and yet here they are.
