Arizona gets $1.8 million for Blackbaud software settlement

Arizona's attorney general is part of a group that reached a $49.5 million settlement with software company Blackbaud.

Arizona will receive $1.8 million of that settlement. The company suffered a ransomware attack 2020 that exposed personal information of millions across the U.S.

Blackbaud then faced several accusations of failing to inform consumers and downplaying the incident.

Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a release that this settlement will keep Blackbaud accountable and ensure better cybersecurity practices.
