Where did $300 million in Arizona public school voucher money go last year?

Where did some $300 million in Arizona public school voucher money go last school year?

The Empowerment Scholarship Account program, as it's called here, was universally expanded at the legislature last year. Currently, around 67,000 students are enrolled in it.

That means each of those students’ families are receiving anywhere from $7,300 to $43,000 a year to help the student go to the school of their choice. That all adds up to hundreds of millions of dollars that critics of the program have argued could have gone to public schools.
