Hobbs, Gallego support increased police presence near Phoenix synagogues

Several Arizona officials have joined the growing chorus of world leaders expressing support for Israel while condemning the attacks by Hamas.

Governor Katie Hobbs says she backs local efforts to increase police presence near synagogues in Phoenix. Mayor Kate Gallego announced the measure over the weekend.

“I think that’s absolutely appropriate. The state of Arizona stands with Israel and we will continue to do that," Hobbs said.

“Violence and terror are not the ways to achieve a lasting and meaningful peace," said a  joint statement from Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and a bipartisan group of 13 attorneys general.
