Industry pros can't agree on how to bring Phoenix gas prices down

It’s no secret that gas prices in Phoenix have been high, sometimes exceeding the national average.

Many had blamed the unique Arizona gasoline blend that’s used, and others look to the constraint on refineries.

Lawmakers on Monday held a joint committee to discuss the issue, but many industry professionals who testified couldn’t agree on what the best fix may look like.

“Striking a balance of affordability, supply, the environment, is not easy. Any choice that one makes in the supply chain has an impact on all three of those," said Catherine Reheis-Boyd with the Western States Petroleum Association.

For now, only more discussion can be done since the Legislature isn’t in session until January.
