Scottsdale will host what’s dubbed "the largest police K-9 competition in the country" this weekend.
More than 70 teams of law enforcement and their K-9 partners will compete for the title of top dog. They’ll simulate real life scenarios, including agility, handler protection, tactical obedience, and narcotics and explosive detection. Judges will award trophies to the top three teams.
The event will also feature police and fire vehicles, aviation teams and rescue equipment.
The nonprofit Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association hosts the annual Desert Dog Police K9 Trials and Public Safety Expo at WestWorld.
Tickets are $5 each and kids under 12 are free.
