Phoenix is looking for ideas from people living across the city on how to expand its Shared Micromobilty Program.
The city seeks to increase public participation in the program which uses small vehicles to help people travel short distances. Vehicles include pedal bikes, adaptive scooters and three-wheel standing and sitting electric scooters.
Gregg Bach is a spokesperson for the Phoenix Street Transportation Department.
"Right now, it operates in the downtown core and then a little bit to the east and west and south of downtown," Bach said. "So, looking at expanding the geographic boundaries to, maybe, have a more citywide availability."
Currently, Lime and Spin electric bikes and scooters are parked in different areas downtown. Additional micro mobility vehicles could be deployed next.
“When you talk about expansion, it can mean both expansion of the boundaries as well as expansion of the inventory, even if it's within the current boundaries," Bach said.
There are two opportunities for people to provide feedback. People can submit comments at a virtual council meeting on Oct. 26 or take the online survey. It is available in English and Spanish through Nov. 15.
