Phoenix may finally get a break from the heat this week

Triple-digit temperatures may soon come to an end in the Phoenix area.

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures winding down entering the work week.

"Early next week will be mid eighties and then, by middle of next week, we’ll begin towards the low eighties, so it’ll be a nice cooldown and with that, as well, we’re expecting a little bit more of a moisture push that will give us some precipitation chances as well," said Jessica Leffel, a meteorologist with the agency.

She says the prospects of rain are low for the week.
