The Maricopa Association of Governmentsis leading a regional plan to reduce climate pollution.
MAG has created a survey for Maricopa and Pinal county residents. It asks how often they think about environmental challenges and where they get their information.
Respondents are asked to prioritize ways to reduce climate change impacts; for example, improve air and water quality, reduce urban heat and better disaster preparedness. The survey asks how likely people are to take specific actions to reduce carbon pollution and what barriers keep them from adopting a more sustainable lifestyle. These might include cost, lack of access or information.
MAG is participating in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Pollution Reduction Grantprogram, which provides $5 billion to states, territories, tribes and local governments to tackle climate and air pollution.
