Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport breaks several passenger records, numbers exceed pre-pandemic travel

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has broken several passenger records this year. More than 3.7 million passengers traveled through the airport in September.

Sky Harbor spokesperson Tamra Ingersoll said that’s a 6.4% increase over September of last year.

“If we go back before the pandemic in 2019, that is an 8.1% increase and 2019 was one of our busiest years on record," she said. "So year-to-date, we are up about 3.7% compared to the pre-pandemic numbers.”

Ingersoll said every month this year, traveler numbers have exceeded 2022 and all but two months were all-time records.
