In March, Arizona will unveil its first Extreme Heat Preparedness Plan. Arizona State University is helping in its formationby taking public recommendations for solutions to address extreme heat, including cooling relief.
The public can submit their ideasby Nov. 16.
ASU’s Patricia Solís is running the project and says one idea is already underway.
“I have a group of students that I’ve been working with at ASU who are engineering students, and they have been trying to build and test an early alert system," Solís said.
The collected responses will be included in a report due to the Governor's Office of Resiliency in December.
