Health care apps are everywhere.
There are apps to track your steps and keep you in shape. You can track your heart rate or your blood sugar level via an app. Then, there are apps where you can connect with a medical provider remotely, get diagnosed with something like an ear infection and get your prescription for antibiotics, all from your couch.
All of this represents an opportunity, according to Dr. Francoise Marvel, but also a challenge. Marvel is a cardiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She also co-directs the Digital Health Lab there.
The Show spoke with her more about it.
