Texas passed its own version of SB 1070. Now Mexico is pushing back

The Texas legislature has passed a controversial immigration measure that many are equating to Arizona’s SB1070, and Gov. Greg Abbott has said he intends to sign it onto law.

SB 4, as it’s called, creates a state crime for entering Texas illegally from Mexico and allows state and local authorities to deport undocumented immigrants.

The backlash to this has been swift, and now Mexico’s government says it “categorically rejects” the new Texas law.

Uriel Garcia has been covering the story for the Texas Tribune and he joined The Show to talk more about it.
