Have ideas to improve Phoenix traffic at Deck Park Tunnel? MAG survey closes Nov. 30

The Maricopa Association of Governments is seeking public comment to improve safety and traffic flow near the Deck Park Tunnel.

“The corridor begins at the Deck Park Tunnel near Seventh Avenue, goes East to the ministack interchange with the 51 and 202 freeways, then south past the west access to Sky Harbor Airport and ends at the split interchange with I-17," said MAG transportation engineer Brad Williams.

The stretch of I-10 between the Deck Park Tunnel and the I-17 “Split” interchange is one of the most highly traveled freeway segments in the Valley. More than 300,000 cars pass through it each day.

Williams said that’s why they’re asking drivers to take an online survey on how it could be improved.

“That has some preset questions you can answer, but then has an interactive element in it where you can drop a pin and point to a specific location along the corridor and tell us your experiences, the problems you’ve faced and any ideas you have for solving the problem," Williams said.

The responses will form the basis for future design and construction projects in that area. The survey closes Nov. 30.
