Festival of Tales this weekend at Paradise Valley Community College promotes literacy for kids

Paradise Valley Community College and the Arizona Coyotes hockey team are inviting families to the “Festival of Tales” on Dec. 2 at the Union Hills Campus in Phoenix.

The free event promotes literacy via storytelling and cultural activities, bringing reading to life for all ages.

Kids can get free books and a variety of vendors will be on hand for arts, crafts, games, live music and food.

“Festival of Tales is one of my favorite events here at PVCC. Not only does it help develop awareness and understanding for other cultures through storytelling, it often is the spark to ignite one's passion for learning,” stated Meggin Kirk, education program director in a press release.

Event activities  will occur on campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in and around the Kranitz Student Center, 8401 N. 32nd St., Phoenix. Free parking is available.
