Sasabe, Sonora, residents fleeing north as cartel violence grips town

The Show took a look just South of the border to Sasabe, Sonora, a small town on the border just East of Nogales that has become the site of a wave of cartel violence this Fall.

Families are fleeing, homes have been burned down and only a fraction of the town’s population remains as rival criminal gangs have been battling on the streets.

José Ignacio Castañeda is covering the ongoing story for the Arizona Republic and joined The Show with more.
