Arizona state Route 67 and other highways closing for the winter

Holiday highway closures will take place in northern Arizona as a result of heavy snow in the region.

Starting Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation will close state Route 67 between Jacob Lake and the Grand Canyon National Park’s North Rim.

When spring rolls along, the highway will reopen. Other closure dates extend to other highways in the White Mountains near the New Mexico border. These include state routes 473, 261 and 273, which will all close later this month. Recently, ADOT closed an unpaved section of state Route 366.

Anyone seeking information about highway conditions should contact 511 or seek out ADOT’s Traveler Information Center.
