2nd director of AZ Division of Occupational Safety and Health steps down

The Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health has gone through its second director in the past three months.

Mark Norton stepped away from the job after he replaced the former director.

In a statement to KJZZ News, a spokesperson with the Industrial Commission of Arizona said Norton has now been replaced by Phil Murphy on an interim basis. Previously, he served as an assistant director of compliance for the division, which oversees workplace safety.

ABC15 investigations have uncovered several issues with the agency, including that it reduced fines for small employers that violated state and federal safety standards.
